Some of my passions in life are art, decorating and design. I actually started my educational and career pursuits in interior design but quickly learned my life's work was meant to be in social work and helping others, which has helped me grow as an individual and find greater purpose. Frequently I can be found in my kitchen baking goodies, but I haven't quite figured out if that is because I love to bake or just eat the sweet treats!
I also really enjoy running and have run a half marathon and full marathon. Running brings calmness and balance to my life. I want to make it a personal goal to run at least one half and one full marathon a year but I am still trying to decide if that is a commitment I can keep and am willing to make! I love warm weather and humidity, which I attribute to being native to southern Texas. When I find time I also enjoy reading inspirational books. However, above everything, the highlight of my life is being a mommy to my children. They bring me so much joy and teach me new lessons about myself and life every day.

As a therapist I use a sensitive approach in helping clients identify and understand the barriers in their life that are preventing them from achieving the peace and happiness they seek. I believe with knowledge comes power and as people gain insight into problems affecting them they can gain insight on how to achieve change in their life.
By using a cognitive behavioral approach, I assist people in identifying what can be done now to achieve change for their future, despite what has happened in their past. I believe it is important to draw on clients' strengths to address weakness and to achieve change.
And most importantly, I work to empower my clients and help them develop the skills needed to be successful even after our work together is done.
