I have worked in the the mental health field for over fourteen years, including inpatient group homes for adolescents, sexual addictions and in family stability. I have also worked with the State of Utah as an in-home therapist to help stabilize families in crisis and prevent removal of children.
I have special interest in ADHD, autism spectrum, bullying, anxiety, depression and various addictions. I also work with families in conflict, and work with parents regarding parenting issues. I believe bullying issues are worse than they have ever been and sometimes families need additional help whether their child is a victim or bully.
I also work with schools regarding counseling, IEP's and 504's. I will consult with the family physician so he/she can better prescribe medication that fits the needs of individuals. I provide a number of non-medication therapies. I leave the decision to the family to decide if they would prefer medication.
In his spare time he enjoys fly fishing, football, and reading. As a child, he once mistook a rectal thermometer as a regular one while trying to fake sick.
Mike accepts self pay and clergy-assisted payment, along with the following insurances: • Altius • Blue Cross Blue Shield • DMBA out of network • EMI • HealthUtah • PEHP • Select Health (Care, Choice, Med plans) • WISE Network
I like clients that are unique; I enjoy people's differences. I tend to create a treatment plan around the client and their needs rather than using a cookie cutter approach. I work with a wide range of clients from children (age 6 and up) and adolescents to couples.
